This is a fast-paced, high-volume collections call center. Responsibilities include reviewing taxpayers' accounts to calculate liabilities, telephone collections, and explaining the application of tax laws, rules, and regulations to taxpayers.Our expectations for the ideal person to fill this position are to possess excellent customer service skills and have the ability to be firm, direct, and concise while maintaining a professional manner; be an effective communicator and have strong telephone skills; be organized; proficiently navigate telephone and computer applications as well as general office equipment; perform mathematical calculations; have an excellent work ethic and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships; and read, interpret and apply regulations and policies.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYThree years of experience reviewing tax documents and applying tax laws and rules and regulations and making taxpayer liability decisions; ORThree years of experience in the collection of taxes;OR Three years of experience in the provision of taxpayer assistance which involves the explanation of the application of tax laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; OR Any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities.The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is proud to be an equal opportunity employer supporting workplace diversity.Health & WellnessWe offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, vision, dental, and wellness programs.*Work/Life BalanceWe understand that there is more to life than work and we want you to enjoy it!For most positions, we offer paid vacation days, paid sick days, military leave, as well as paid time off for most major U.S. holidays.
