Job Description:

Job Title:--Finance & Grants Accountant FLSA Status: Full Time ExemptReports to: COO/CFO ________________________________________________________________________________Job Summary:Perform all accountant level duties, prepare monthly financial statements, prepare monthly grant financial reports and assist with organizational budget. Grants management, coordinate audit and fiscal policy development. Facilitate member Billing Manager Peer Network group. Essential Job Functions (other duties may be assigned):-- Accounting/Bookkeeping - Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable (bank deposits); ensure accuracy and keep current; perform credit card reconciliation to receipts before accounts payable processing; review accounts payable for money-saving opportunities for the organization & make recommendations to management; keep track of the fixed assets, inventory and depreciation; keep track of prepaid expenses; record all employee time sheet hours for accounting cost allocations; conduct suspension and debarment searches/verifications for PACHC vendors and contractors; reconcile organization-wide billing for events, grants and memberships; maintain association financial policies and internal control policies. Process journal entries & monthly reconciliations.-- Audits - Coordinate full scope of audit process. Prepare and maintain valid and reliable financial information in preparation for annual audit of PACHC financial statements; and Form 990, Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax, preparation-- Financial Reporting - Prepare monthly financial statements; develop accounting processes to create any additional reports that reflect the financial status of programs, grants, or the PCA overall; monitor fiscal grants management to ensure accurate billing and spending of funds according to guidelines; Budgeting - create and set budgets in conjunction with PACHC leadership for the overall organization, programs and grants. Import final budgets into accounting system for reporting.-- Facilities Accounting- Assist with the financial processes related to products and service. Reconcile fixed assets and inventory.-- Corporate Compliance - ensure accounting and financial management procedures align with state and federal laws, policies and regulations-- Billing Manager Peer Network Group - Facilitate and manage the sharing of successful practices among health center billing staff-- Grants - Track staff time by grant, compare to grant budgets and provide updates to staff on a monthly basis.-- Time worked allocation - Allocate time worked to applicable grant daily, and submit timesheet weeklyMinimum Qualifications:-- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.--3-5 years' experience required. Experience with federal grants preferred. Experience with health care billing preferred. Proficiency with Medicaid and Medicare regulations preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-- Knowledge of general accounting principles and fiscal compliance policy* PC Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access* Strong verbal and written communication skills* Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills-- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills-- Organizational skills-- Accuracy with strong attention to detail-- Ability to prioritize work and work independently-- Ability to read, analyze and interpret accounting & financial records -- Ability to present financial information to management-- Ability to research issues and recommend solutions* Professional, customer service orientationWork Environment (includes physical requirements):Office setting.--Prolonged sitting and use of computer, keyboard and monitor.
