Responsible for ensuring a company complies with sales and use tax regulations.

Hybrid/Remote: This position is primarily remote, with onsite work required as needed and/or a minimum of one Wednesday per month.


Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM. There may be some flexibility with the start and end times.


Responsibilities: Ensure that all applicable customer sales tax exemption documents are current and accurate at all times
Maintain accurate records of sales tax documents in Vertex (tax system)
Work with New Accounts team on account set-ups that require "special" tax handling
Work with customers on tax issues
Approve customer sales tax credits
Assist with sales tax audits and tax returns as needed


Additional Duties Other related duties and special projects as assigned
Must work in other areas, as needed for cross training and/or workload


Qualifications/Requirements: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Two years of sales tax working experience in a reseller environment
Ability to interact with customers on a routine basis
Ability to handle confrontational situations
Some knowledge of tax concepts (sales / use, corporate)
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Ability to handle multiple priorities with accuracy, in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Exhibits sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with Vertex, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Office
Ability to acclimate to diverse software and ERP systems such as Vertex, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and familiarity of Microsoft Office products
Exceptional communication
Exceptional attention to detail
