Job Description Join the UPMC Somerset Team as a Mammographer! You'll perform imaging procedures independently, using your skills and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. UPMC is excited to offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year work commitment. /n Schedule: /n /n - Mammography: 1-2 days per week /n - Radiology: Remaining days /n - Daylight and evening shifts, including a weekend rotation /n /n Responsibilities: /n /n - You'll perform breast exams and document any scars, moles, or pertinent findings. /n - Teach patients how to perform breast self-exams and explain the importance of annual clinical breast exams. /n - Properly identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols during procedures. /n - Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for the best results. /n - Document patient history in electronic records as needed. /n - Ensure safety with radioactive materials. /n - Perform mammography procedures proficiently, including proper breast compression and positioning. /n - Prepare patients for mammography, ensuring their safety and comfort. /n - Clearly explain procedures to patients to ease their fears and gain their cooperation. /n - Make sure all exams are coded, tracked, networked for archiving and interpretation, and charges are entered. /n /n - Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology. /n - Completion of approved Mammography Training Course that fulfills the requirements set forth by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) in preparation for Mammography certification board examination within 30 days of hire. /n /n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: /n /n - ARRT Certificate /n - Must obtain Mammography registration within 12 months of hire date. /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire /n - Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal /n - Act 33 with renewal /n - Act 34 with renewal /n - Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal /n /n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
