It will focus on the provision of advisory and consultative services to school districts and intermediate units in the planning, monitoring, improvement and evaluation of special education programs and services in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Specifically, the successful candidate will be charged with the following primary duties: (1) The management of a system for investigation of consumer complaints as required by federal regulations, (2) Conducting cyclical monitoring in local education agencies, (3) Review and approval of intermediate unit and school district special education plans to ensure that a full range of services are being provided for students with disabilities and (4) Management of other statewide functions and/or duties as designated.
