Job Summary

As a Mechanical Development Engineer II, you will contribute to the mechanical aspect of the development, design, and improvement of products and solutions. In addition, you will work independently and as part of a team, to develop creative solutions based on requirements from specific customers or general market requirements. This requires independent analysis skills, judgement, and general proficiency in 3D Modeling and 2D Drawing capabilities. The Mechanical Development Engineer II represents the second level within the Development Engineering career path.

Key Job Duties

  • Develop product and component designs using 2D and 3D geometry (STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF, etc.)
  • Work with senior team members to develop unique solutions to problems
  • Estimate engineering, tooling, component, assembly and testing as associated with a product development project
  • Participate and provide significant contributions in FMEA process
  • Consider manufacturing needs, including design for formability, assembly, supplier involvement and component and assembly measurement
  • Review and evaluate technical reports and analysis performed by internal/external engineering personnel
  • Define and design test plans and conditions for given requirements
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and practices of the mechanical engineering department
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in the international network through the product development process

    Must-Have Qualifications
    • BS Mechanical Engineering degree
    • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in mechanical product integration or installation, product design or system layout

      Preferred Skills
      • Proficient with AutoCAD 2D and 3D
      • Knowledge of strength and analysis theories
      • Knowledge of concepts/theory around Monte Carlo and RSS analysis
