We're seeking a Design Engineer to join our Engineering team and help streamline sign designs, materials, and manufacturing processes that bring brands to life. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of electromechanical signage projects, collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing and estimating teams, and drive innovation in design and production methods. We Build Brands. You Build Your Career. What you'll be doing: Streamline sign designs, materials used, and manufacturing processes needed for sign construction. Establish market-acceptable design criteria and practices for all types of electromechanical signs. Produce detailed design and drawing packages for manufacturing to fabricate all types of signage. Standardize engineering and drafting practices to align with market sign construction standards. Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and implement new processes and methods, including equipment selection and justification. Maintain, upgrade, and improve current sign designs to reduce rework, improve functionality, and reduce cost. Ensure engineering designs are consistent with economical production methods. Design signs, components, and products optimized for manufacturability, functionality, and cost. Perform wind load calculations and determine proper structural integrity for signage. Coordinate and lead prototype efforts for new products. Assist the Estimating team in building cost models for bidding projects. Evaluate current designs and processes to reduce drawing time, process time, and overall sign cost. Work primarily in an office environment with occasional time in the factory. Travel occasionally to the field to observe sign installations, perform benchmarking, or provide instruction and diagnostic expertise. What we're looking for: S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Sciences. Strong mechanical design and analytical skills. Expertise in mechanical drawing, design, and geometric tolerancing. Experience with CAD software (PRO-E, Inventor, SolidWorks). Knowledge of sign manufacturing materials and processes (thermoformed plastics, aluminum, steel fabrication, paint). Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
