The Engineering Manager will lead an experienced and growing
development engineering team to create new standard as well as
customer specific interconnect and electronic housing solutions.
You will work with a team designing innovative interconnect
solutions from concept to high volume production to meet the most
recent trends in various applications like automation, networking,
- Manage engineering projects through delegating to the team's
engineers based on qualifications, experience, and scope of
project. Use the company's project management tools to initiate,
track, and document the project's life cycle.
- Review customer needs presented directly or through product
management and recommend appropriate Phoenix Contact solutions that
would result in maximum customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the development of the RBU's product roadmap and
- Work to optimize the workflow in the department to ensure the
highest quality and throughput.
- Ensure all projects follow the company's development, quality,
and life cycle processes. Contribute to the ongoing development and
improvement of these processes.
- Evaluate external suppliers for their capability and cost to
supply components for our projects.
- Build and develop a strong team by developing, coaching, and
mentoring the engineering team members. Provide technical advice
and recommendations to the staff.
- Ten or more years of connector, or related product development
- Three or more years of engineering supervision or project
management experience is desired
- Minimum BS Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering,
physics, or a similar discipline
- Experience with solid modeling software is required
Must Be Able To---
- Receive a US passport.
- Travel by air for trips up to twelve hours.
- Travel occasionally overseas for extended periods.
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Communicate effectively in English.
