Overview
As the Director of Marketing for Harrisburg University - Online (HU
Online), the role encompasses developing and executing a compelling
marketing strategy to enhance the university's reputation as a
leading STEM-focused institution. Reporting directly to the
Managing Director of HU Online, the Director of Marketing should
understand the online admission cycle to execute marketing and
communication efforts to support recruitment, admission, and
enrollment. Responsibilities include leading all lead generation
efforts, creative development, email marketing, and web
communications to support the university's reputational goals. The
Director of Marketing should also establish and manage a coherent
and compelling University brand governance while maximizing its
value through compelling strategies, campaigns, and partnerships.
The Director of Marketing is also responsible for ensuring that the
University brand is protected and enforced in approved uses.
This role provides an exciting opportunity for an individual who is
an effective planner, content strategist, and project manager to
prioritize effective and efficient workflow processes and influence
marketing and communication efforts across various digital
channels, including web, email, social media, and other digital
marketing platforms. The ideal candidate should possess strong
communication skills and integrated marketing and communication
skill sets that are both strategic and analytical to support
admission marketing strategies.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business, communications, or
related field
- 7-10 years of experience in marketing, including supervisory
experience Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education and admission recruitment
processes preferred.
- Master's Degree in business, marketing, communications, or a
related field is strongly preferred.
- Experience leading multi-channel, multi-media marketing
campaigns and strategies
- Experience with creative design
- Experience with web/social monitoring tools
- Experience with email marketing best practices Core
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with HU Online admissions and Harrisburg University
team members on the implementation of integrated marketing and
communications materials in support of recruitment strategies,
initiatives, and goals.
- Manage digital media agency that executes lead generation
efforts in various online media channels like Google Search,
Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc--- to drive lead
generation efforts to meet new student enrollment goals.
- Execute segmented and sequenced marketing communications plans
that target all phases of the admission funnel for prospective
students.
- Coordinate and draft SMS (text) and email communications based
on strategy and implement in the University's CRM.
- Manage and draft content for social, collaborating with
partners like student affairs, academic leaders, admission team
members and student ambassadors.
- Ensure objectives, budgets and timelines are on target with
admission marketing efforts.
- Collaborate on creative - print and digital - development and
implementation. You should demonstrate:
- Ability to adjust priorities and implement projects against
identified objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, editing, active listening,
presentation communication, organizational, problem-solving, and
reasoning skills.
- Experience with integrated marketing implementation,
particularly with written communication, across platforms and
channels using audience insights and performance metrics to measure
success.
- Proficient knowledge of digital platforms and tools including
but not limited to Google search, social media, websites, emails,
SMS, CRM, CMSs, project management tools.
- Ability to take direction and work independently with strong
attention to detail.
- Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with staff,
students, and faculty from all levels of the university.
- Ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships with
internal constituents to achieve shared goals.
- Ability to build relationships with a diverse group of
people.
