Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) seeks a talented and deeply committed President/CEO to lead the organization and serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the GSHPA mission: to build girls of courage, confidence and character that make the world a better place. GSHPA currently serves over 17,000 girls across a 30 county region in Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania. GSHPA is committed to a high-quality girl program that includes an outdoor experience, STEM, STEAM and community service. Its recent implementation of a strategic plan ensures that girls are prepared and inspired to become leaders instilled with the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law. GSHPA has a strong balance sheet with over $20 million in assets and operating reserves in excess of 12 months. The President/CEO will assure the Council's relevance in the community, promote and strengthen the Girl Scout image to various constituencies. S/he will bring exceptional leadership and strategic abilities, strong organizational management and communication skills, and a deep sense of respect for the mission of the organization, with the ability to conceive, build support for and implement strategies for increased funding and membership. This position is based in Harrisburg, PA. A willingness and the ability to travel throughout GSHPA's 30 county region is required. Responsibilities Include: Provide leadership, support, and direction to ensure that the mission and core values of the Girl Scouts are put into practice within the Council jurisdiction Collaborate with the Board of Directors and senior leadership team to execute the strategic plan that focuses on mission critical, long-term goals with measurable objectives Advise Board of Directors of activities, issues, and events impacting GSHPA through verbal and written communication Ensure the financial health and integrity of the Council by employing sound fiscal controls and by effectively integrating, managing, and leveraging the Council's resources and assets Build community awareness and support for the Council's contribution to the community's needs and values by communicating our mission, vision, values, and strategy. Foster an environment that encourages management's involvement in the local community and ensures Council's presence at key community events Work collaboratively with the Council Board of Directors on the continued implementation of the Council's property plan. Lead, motivate, manage, and develop staff to invoke passion in the mission of GSHPA and to foster a commitment to continuous improvement Minimum of 10 years' experience in a leadership role Professional experience in a complex regional organization; previous experience leading a nonprofit organization preferred A strong interpersonal and communication skillset and demonstrated ability to work effectively with and gain the respect and support of varied and changing constituencies, including staff, Board members, potential donors, volunteers, and others Unwavering commitment to the GSHPA mission and respect for its history; compassion and understanding of the needs of girls in today's society Ability to understand and to adjust to the regional differences among the Council's 30 county footprint Experience in major gift fundraising with individuals/corporations in a professional capacity and/or as a volunteer fundraiser with demonstrated results is preferred PandoLogic.Category: Executive, Keywords: President
