Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc. is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Washington, District of Columbia. Specialty: Respiratory Therapist ~ Discipline: Allied Health Professional ~ Shift: 12 hours ~ Employment Type: Travel The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory and pulmonary therapy, management, and rehabilitation under the direction of a doctor. The Respiratory Therapist treats conditions that affect the pulmonary system and help patients who are having trouble breathing from infants to the elderly in a variety of health care settings. Adheres to established policies and procedures of the facility Plans for outcomes of care for those patients assigned Determines appropriate therapy and treatment options in collaboration with physicians Manages respiratory/pulmonary equipment and devices Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard. Adheres to emergency, safety and infection control procedures of the facility Reports changes in the patient’s respiratory status to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care Services, the nurse primarily responsible for the patient, and the physician, as needed, and prior to leaving the facility Current Respiratory Therapist Certification or Registration for the state in which he/she practices One year of respiratory therapy clinical experience preferred Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site proficiency in the English language is required Computer proficiency required Competitive pay & weekly paychecks ~ Health, dental, vision, and life insurance ~About Amergis Amergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
