Job Summary Geisinger Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Infectious Disease provider to join our expanding team at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Job Duties Diagnose and manage infectious diseases of all types and in all organ systems, including conditions requiring the selective use of antibiotics. Interview patients to obtain comprehensive information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests as clinically indicated. Design and implement treatment plans for injuries and/or illnesses; prescribe or administer medications as appropriate. Prepare, maintain, and review patient records, including histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and outcomes. Care for patients with AIDS, unexplained fevers, and those requiring preventive medicine or travel-related health expertise. Work Schedule & Environment Primarily inpatient care with 1-2 clinical days per week. Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment. Position Details Qualifications Board certified or board eligible in Infectious Disease. Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution Completion of residency and fellowship in Infectious Disease Valid and unrestricted medical license Prior experience managing complex infectious disease cases is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Additional Information All candidates must be accountable for meeting job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
