services including a robust Surgery Department. Opportunity:
Physician Assistant - Surgery Department Job Details: • Perform
daily rounds and post-operative visits, documenting appropriately
and communicating with attending• Assist as needed in surgeries,
including pre/post-operative set up and documentation• Complete
admission/discharge orders and brief op notes• Perform initial and
ongoing assessments of patients' medical and physical status,
including HPs, to help develop treatment plans• Coordinate with
other departments and consultants for inpatient care and discharge
planning• Coordinate service recovery to ensure positive patient
experience and clinical excellence• Order and interpret patient
testing such as lab work and imaging• Order treatments or follow-up
based on results• Perform therapeutic/corrective measures and small
procedures as needed (drain removal, suture placement, uterine
evacuation, dressing changes, etc.)• Provide patients, families,
and nursing staff with education, counseling, and discharge
instructions• Full-time, rotating schedule with weekends, nights,
and holidays required• OR, OB, and floor coverage required•
Requires BS in Physician Assistant studies• Two years surgical
experience or surgical residency preferred• Must have NCCPA
certification, Maryland State PA license, CDS, DEA, BLS/ACLS• Must
meet credentialing requirements for Medical staff, including
background check Compensation: Competitive hourly rates with weekly
pay and malpractice included.
