Radiology Tech Location: State College, PA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,052 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening shift; every 3rd weekend Hours per Shift: Varies Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred License: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Completion of a specialized training program in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Knowledge of radiologic equipment and procedures and safety hazards common to radiology. Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment problems. Description: Prepare patients for examinations. Explain procedures and respond to patient questions. Perform diagnostic procedures for patients as ordered by physicians. Greet each patient in a pleasant manner. Review requests and evaluate orders for appropriate exams and diagnoses. Always check for two identifiers: Name and Date of Birth. Explain the procedure in terms that the patient understands. Contact appropriate individuals for proper scheduling/orders. Prepare and position patients for examinations. Determine and use proper technique to position patients for views/examinations. Take correct views for examinations. Demonstrate the ability to operate CR, Fluoro, and DR rooms safely and efficiently. Operate CR readers and printers. Perform proper start-up and shut-down of equipment. Transfer images to PACS, scan documents, and route. Change priority to STAT or URGENT when deemed necessary. Assist the Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations. Move portable radiographic equipment for various procedures. Maintain proper sterile techniques during examinations in appropriate settings. Prepare IV and Oral contrast media and administer contrast media as needed. Document patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations, date, time of study, and technologist initials in PACS. Perform other related technical patient care duties as assigned. Maintain room assignments and keep work areas clean and orderly. Demonstrate appropriate radiation safety practices and promote radiation safety for patients and staff. Escort patients throughout the department and/or facility. Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff. Perform clerical duties in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner. Monitor workflow processes utilizing PACS and assist in office functions as needed. Comply with and perform quality assurance duties as assigned. Explain policies, procedures, and clerical functions to radiology students as directed. Perform related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
