Radiation Therapist Location: State College, PA Agency: Acruex Health Pay: $2,560 to $2,720 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Pay Rate: $64.00 - $68.00/Hourly. Summary: We are looking for an empathetic radiation therapist to be a member of our oncology team. You will specialize in the planning and execution of radiotherapy treatments. Radiation therapy is one of the main methods used to treat patients with cancer and can be delivered by a machine outside the body, or by placing radioactive material inside patients' bodies, near cancer cells. Responsibilities: Checks diagnosis, prescription, chart and patient identification. Explains planned treatment to patient including means of communication during treatment and procedure to follow if problems arise during treatment. Prepares room and equipment, according to prescription, including immobilization devices, field size, treatment distance, etc. Observes radiation safety measures for patients and personnel. Maintains visual audible communications with the patient during treatment. Operates and performs CT simulation procedures/equipment in an effective manner. Performs daily duties in an accurate and timely fashion. Requirements Requirements: 2 - Year experience Required, Current registration as a Radiation Therapist (RTT), BLS Certification, ARRT (T) Certification.
