Job Description Jackson Therapy Partners is seeking a travel Outpatient Physical Therapy Assistant for a travel job in Fort Washington, Maryland. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant - Discipline: Therapy - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours - Employment Type: Travel Make a real difference as a travel Physical Therapist Assistant. You will work with patients recovering from orthopedic conditions in an outpatient setting, helping them improve mobility, reduce pain, and regain function under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. Apply today and a recruiter will follow up with details. /n /n Minimum Qualifications /n - Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program. - Active Maryland PTA license required to start the assignment. - BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required. - One year of outpatient orthopedic experience required (client specific). - Demonstrated experience implementing therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening, endurance/cardiac training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief techniques, and functional skills training. - Experience training patients in assistive device use and safe gait techniques, including proper guarding and orthotic/prosthetic instruction. - Familiarity with commonly used modalities in outpatient care, such as hot/cold packs, ultrasound, TENS, paraffin, fluidotherapy, and therapeutic pool modalities preferred. - Ability to document patient progress and provide patient and family education consistent with clinic policies. - Adherence to safety, infection control, and equipment handling procedures. /n /n Assignment Details /n - Facility Type: Outpatient clinic. - Schedule: Monday and Thursday 10:30 AM–7:00 PM; Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. - Shift Pattern: 5x8. - Duration: 13 week assignment. - Positions Available: 1. /n /n Location Highlights /n /n Fort Washington, MD offers a mix of suburban and historical attractions within easy reach of Washington, D.C. The National Harbor is about a 20–25 minute drive and provides waterfront dining, the Capital Wheel, and entertainment venues. Fort Washington Park and Fort Foote Park are local historical sites along the Potomac River, within a 10–15 minute drive, offering trails and riverfront access. The area is approximately 25 minutes to downtown Alexandria and 30–40 minutes to central Washington, D.C., providing urban cultural attractions, museums, and transit connections via Metro and commuter bus routes. Outdoor recreation options include nearby Piscataway Park and small-boat access on the Potomac, supporting an active, suburban lifestyle with convenient access to major metropolitan amenities. /n /n Standard Job Description /n Embrace the facility’s core values by delivering quality care, treating others respectfully, working collaboratively, and maintaining safety for patients and staff. Implement treatment goals as established by the Physical Therapist. Assist with therapeutic interventions such as strength, balance, endurance, coordination, joint mobility, and functional skills training. Train patients in locomotion with assistive devices, demonstrate safe gait and guarding techniques, and instruct in prescribed equipment use. Operate and instruct in modalities appropriate to outpatient orthopedic care. Monitor patient response and document progress, education, and participation. Maintain professional relationships with patients and interdisciplinary team members. Participate in team conferences and quality improvement activities. Adhere to clinic policies, infection control practices, and safety procedures.
