both experienced and aspiring staff to work on all stages of the
computer vision (CV) pipeline, to include acquiring and
standardization of geospatial data, building and running machine
vision models, testing and evaluating processes, and data

responsibility What would you be doing? Contributing to
multi-discipline AI/ML teams use of GEOINT data to create, test,
and evaluate machine learning models and their supporting
technologies Providing strategic advice to government AI/ML clients
fielding automatic target recognition (ATR) algorithms Extracting
and transforming data using programming languages such as Python
and associated open-source data analytics libraries Using GEOINT
data to build algorithms compatible with a variety of existing
government AI/ML computer vision platforms Advising Maxar and the
project manager on the strengths and weaknesses of various AI/ML
approaches, staffing footprints and delivery strategies Briefing
government clients, contractor partners and internal Maxar teams on
delivery progress, evaluation results and project challenges
Generating sprint-style projections and risk assessments for AI/ML
deliveries Integrating and fielding a range of talents and
personnel spanning the full landscape of data scientist skillsets:
ETL, mathematics and modeling, data engineering, visualization and
storytelling, platform integration and data analytics Providing
subject matter expertise and mentoring other team members Traveling
occasionally to local government sites for customer meetings and
demonstrations Minimum Qualifications: Must be US Citizen. Must
have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to obtain a CI
Polygraph B.S. in Data Science, Engineering, Math, Physics,
Computer Science, Applied Geography or related field 3 years
developing, testing, and deploying CV object detection models using
GEOINT data 3 years testing and evaluating statistical learning
algorithms (not limited to CV models) 1 year working with synthetic
training data generation, low-shot learning, and robust Machine
Learning (ML) (not limited to CV focus, but nice to have) 1 year
working with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and
integrating CV capabilities (SageMaker, IBM Watson Studio, etc.)
Ability to work with a geographically distributed team Ability to
travel local occasionally (DC Capital Region) to government sites
for customer meetings and demonstrations Effective communicator
demonstrated through technical writing (proposals, white papers,
academic publications) and speaking engagements (briefing larger
groups, conference presentations, etc.) Organizational skills and
excellent attention to detail Desired Qualifications: Advanced
degree (M.S, Ph.D.) in Data Science, Engineering, Math, Physics,
Computer Science, Applied Geography, or related field Experience
with remote sensing, GEOINT datasets, and government collection
platforms including electro-optical (EO) and synthetic aperture
radar (SAR) imagery Competence with the Python data science stack
(e.g., numpy, pandas, matplotlib, sklearn, etc.) Competence with
Python’s geospatial libraries, such as gdal, geopandas, shapely,
etc. Competence with deep learning algorithms for image science
(YOLO, SSD, DetectNet, etc.) Competence with containerization
platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, etc.)
Competence with Linux command line tools Competence with version
control technologies such as Git, GitLab, etc. Experience
supporting government clients in the Defense and Intelligence
communities, working within a SCIF, and briefing government

disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful
candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided
below and is determined based on job-related factors, including,
but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge,
skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates
with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge,
and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the
upper end of the pay range. The base pay for this position within
California, Colorado, Hawaii, and the Washington, DC metropolitan
area is: $135,000.00 - $185,000.00 For all other states, we use
geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven
ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may
