GDIT is seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer Subject
Matter Expert with expertise in DevOps Automation (Terraform,
Ansible, CloudFormation), Cloud Administration, and Cloud AI
Services. As a Cloud Engineer SME, you will be a part of a team
leading the design, implementation, and automation of a secure
cloud infrastructure. Focusing on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and
cybersecurity best practices, you will guide customers in securing
complex, multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP) while
bridging technical execution with executive-level strategic
decisions. HOW CLOUD ENGINEER SME WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Serve as a
Subject Matter Expert for program-related cloud security solutions
and projects (and other areas as assigned). Work with IaC
Development & Security, creating, maintaining, and securing
Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) to
build secure-by-default cloud environments. Serve as a technical
advisor for cloud security, providing guidance in architecture,
compliance, and risk mitigation. Work to integrate robust
cybersecurity operations, automated guardrails, and compliance
checks (NIST 800-53, Zero Trust) into CI/CD pipelines. Work in a
Multi-Cloud Environment, overseeing security postures across hybrid
and multi-cloud platforms. Synthesize complex technical data into
concise briefings, reports, and strategic recommendations for
executive decision-making. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Computer Science,
Information Technology, or a related field or t he equivalent
combination of education, technical certifications or training, or
work experience Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
Required technical skills: Deep practical experience in Cloud
technologies (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and/or
Google Cloud). Strong experience in creating, deploying, and
maintaining Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform,
CloudFormation, ARM templates). Practical experience integrating
security into cloud infrastructure (IAM, networking, logging,
monitoring). Proven ability to communicate technical, security, and
project risks to senior leadership. Security clearance level:
TS/SCI with Polygraph Desired Skills: Familiarity with Government
cybersecurity requirements, frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF, FedRAMP),
and operational policies. Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions
Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or Certified
Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Advanced Tech:
Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture, DevSecOps practices, and
multi-cloud orchestration. Experience supporting Intelligence
Community (IC) programs. Location: Herndon, VA - on customer site

salary range for this position is $195,500 - $264,500. This is not,
however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will
be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly
contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
