The Department of General Services' Bureau of Diversity, Inclusion and Small Business Opportunities (BDISBO) is seeking to fill the primary responsibility of the Equal Opportunity Specialist 2 is to perform technical, advisory and enforcement work as a specialist in the division. Activities may also include having a working knowledge of diversity certifications, minority socio-economic programs or compliance functions. The person in this position supports the application and implementation of the Small Business(SB) and Small Diverse Business (SDB), and Veteran-Owned Business (VBE) programs across agencies under the Governor's jurisdiction. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: assisting with the planning, organizing, supervising and implementation of various functions of the programs within BDISBO.     • Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.DESCRIPTION OF WORKBDISBO is a fast-pace environment with room for growth. The person in this position will provide technical guidance and assistance to eligible businesses on the small business self-certification process; third -party small diverse business verification program; and the Bureau's Small Business Vendor database. Additionally, this person will use methods and strategies to maximize Small Diverse Business and Small Business contracting opportunities either through race and gender-neutral measures or race-conscious means. Examine procurement technical specifications, set and document SDB/VSBE participation goals on a contract-by-contract basis. Assist Procurement staff by reviewing good faith effort documentation in order to make waiver determinations. Perform contract compliance reviews and research advocacy inquiries. Provides agency contract administration staff with assistance on guidelines and procedures pertaining to non-discrimination policies within the state procurement process. Conducts training activities; provides technical assistance and outreach to small and small diverse businesses at trade shows, seminars, conferences, etc. to encourage and advocate for increased participation in state contracts.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQualifications:
