Overview GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Systems
Architect in the Harrisburg, PA area. Position Overview Responsible
for interfacing with multiple stakeholders in the organization in
order to understand the various levels of requirements, the domain,
the viable technologies, and anticipated development. System
Architects determine multiple design alternatives, assessing such
alternatives based on all identified constraints (such as cost,
schedule, space, power, safety, usability, reliability,
maintainability, availability, and so on), and selecting the most
suitable options for scalability and future design.
Responsibilities Create and influence effective architectures to
manage information across the organization; communicate complex
ideas in simple and creative ways; provide independent architecture
contributions, as well as, lead team work; lead projects in a
variety of roles; provide skills in database, content management
and integration technologies; unify collections of data
requirements for key data concepts across the enterprise,
harmonizing business definitions and semantics, and specifying data
designs expressed as business semantic models, data models,
lifecycle models, etc.; maintain an enterprise view of data across
business systems and highlight opportunities for progressive
improvement; influence architecture methods, scope, estimate and
structure architecture engagement, and refine project deliverable
into reusable architecture collateral; stay appraised of
information management trends and standards related to data in
capital markets, master data management, big data, data services,
self-service business intelligence, metadata management, data
quality, and data governance; drive the engineering and
implementation process that might result from the architectural
process; be comfortable and supportive of working in the operations
space to ensure the help desk and related staff understand and have
clear instructions on how to recover, support and optimize the
application/architecture for which you are responsible.
Interface with the organization stakeholders in order to determine
their evolving needs.
Generating the highest level of system requirements, based on the
user''s needs and other constraints.
Ensure that the set of high-level requirements is consistent,
accurate, and operationally defined.
Perform cost-benefit analysis to determine best solution for the
requirements, whether it is manual, software, or hardware.
Interface with the stakeholders, and engineers so that any problems
arise can be resolved in accordance with the fundamental design
concepts, and user needs and constraints.
Ensure that a maximally robust design is developed and
Generate acceptance test requirements, together with the
stakeholders to determine that requirement have been met.
Generate practical, executable artifacts such as diagrams, models,
and prototypes to keep the stakeholders constantly up to date and
in agreement on an implementable solution as it is evolving.
Ensure that all architectural products and products with
architectural input are maintained in the most current secure state
to avoid risk and instability in the future.
Support risk management practices and overall safety and soundness
and the compliance with all regulatory requirements. Ensure that
the department and all personnel adhere to the same; perform tasks
that are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the
job, but that may be altered or redesigned depending on individual
Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science,
Information Systems, or other related field and/or equivalent work
experience is required.
A minimum of five (5) years'' experience in Information Technology
architecture and/or solution delivery in diverse contexts with
depth in information management architectures - structured and
Experience integrating diverse software systems (off the shelf and
internally developed) - including supporting the detailed
engineering and operations of the system once in production.
SQL experience preferred. Experience with Pentaho, Unix, Linux,
Java, PowerShell is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong
relationship building skills.
Ability to apply strategic architecture direction; mathematical,
analytical, problem solving, decision making, customer service,
coaching, training, and interpersonal relations skills, business
domain modeling, logical and physical relational data
modeling/design, and data analysis and facilitation skills; comfort
level working across emerging technologies including external
infrastructure providers (Cloud); excellent computer knowledge,
including various applications such as Microsoft Office products,
and various banking systems; proficient management/supervisory
Preferred Experience Graduate degree in a related or supporting
field is strongly preferred.
