Introduction
As Systems Administrator you are responsible for leading and supporting individual projects, people, or technical/functional solutions, leveraging capabilities and sharing and seeking knowledge and information across the organization. You understand the current and emerging technology space and evaluate and apply practical and innovative concepts and methodologies to solve difficult problems. As a part of the team, you make recommendations to improve standard practices, procedures, and tools. You employ advanced skills and grow project deliverables, as well as your expertise.

Additionally, the Systems Administrator has the responsibility of maintaining the reliability, availability and performance of the IT environment. This will include items such as, general system administration, monitoring, problem determination and resolution.

Job Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot workstation, website, network connectivity, email, application and general system support.
  • Take inbound technical support requests via phone, email, ticketing system, voicemail.
  • Completely and accurately record all updates, support requests in IT ticketing system.
  • Complete assigned tickets in a timely manner with user updates no less than every 48 business hours until the ticket is closed.
  • Escalate all non-technical user issues to the Global Infrastructure Director.
  • Assist new employees with infrastructure and application knowledge development.
  • Be the expert for and own all aspects of subject matter expert (SME) assignments.
  • Provide ongoing support for Windows based virtual environment.
  • Support, design, install, maintain servers and all associated components.
  • Support of mobile devices, cellular phones, tablets.
  • General administration of systems. Including user access administration, system services, configurations and the development of tools to manage the environment
  • Develop and maintain basic application, system and support documentation.
  • Break/fix support of corporate software and operating systems.
  • Pro-active performance monitoring and trending the utilization of system resources.
  • Maintain system responsibility and availability by managing updates and security patches
  • Meticulously document activities and projects maintain drawings, patching records, server builds, and other records as required.
  • Maintain system asset inventory and additional tracking of software/hardware as required.
  • Design, install, implement systems to provide efficient, cost effective solutions for the business technology needs.
  • Research industry trends to assist with development of long-term IT infrastructure strategy
  • Identifies devices or modifies procedures to solve problems while taking into consideration equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, form of desired results, integration of components and overall business impact.
  • Understanding and use of appropriate change control procedures for implementation of hardware and software changes/enhancements.
  • Oversees system testing, integration testing, assists in user testing.
  • System maintenance, support, upgrades, which may require off-hours implementation or troubleshooting as needs dictate.
  • Understanding and analysis of business workflows and business needs.
  • Help to establish and enforce data and access security policies and procedures.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • 2-4 years of Microsoft Windows systems administration experience (client and server platforms)
  • 2-4 years help desk or other end user support
  • 2-4 years of experience using SCCM or MECM
  • 2-4 years of administering Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Anti-Virus, Software Patching/Maintenance
  • 2-4 years of experience managing/supporting Microsoft Exchange
  • 2-4 years of experience managing/supporting Office365
  • 2-4 years of experience working with third-party vendors for support
  • 2-4 years of application support experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience managing/supporting virtual server environments
    • VMWare experience required, VMware CP designation preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience managing enterprise level environment
  • Experience administering server-side technologies and networked computing environments
  • Familiarity with SQL and database operations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Sharepoint Administration
  • Basic command line experience
  • Basic understanding of networking (IP addresses/subnetting)
  • Basic understanding of security best practices
Preferred qualifications include:
  • Relevant degree or diploma in information systems, information technology, computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft MCSE certification or similar
  • VMware VCP preferred
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ certification or similar
  • ITIL Service Management certification or similar
  • Continued progress to obtain additional industry certifications/education
  • Prior experience working in the construction industry, understanding of construction technology applications.
Work Hours and Locations
  • This is a Full-Time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours of work may vary according to business needs. Flexible scheduling is available with advanced approval from the Director Global Infrastructure.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work for special projects and maintenance.
  • On call for emergencies 24x7x365. Advanced noticed must be given to the Director if you will not be available at any given time.
  • Remote work opportunity available.
