Description PSECU, a high-tech, progressive financial institution with more than $7 billion in assets, is seeking a Head of Mortgage Lending responsible for the leadership, profitability and efficient operation of the Consumer Real Estate portfolio of the Credit Union. Ensures efficient and effective loan servicing, secondary market and loss mitigation practices are in place Maximizes earnings through incremental loan volume and fee income. Oversees all areas of loan production (direct and via mortgage brokers and correspondent lenders) to include sales underwriting, processing and closings. Ensures the overall loan quality is compliant with all Federal and State regulatory agencies, PSECU policies and secondary market guidelines. Employee Type: Full-time - Starting Minimum Salary: -$145,000/yr.- $266,200/yr., (Commensurate with experience) This position is eligible for the variable pay plan - This is a hybrid schedule working remotely with a minimum onsite expectation of 20% but may change in the future. Candidate must be bondable and credit worthy. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Essential for this position: -

  • Develops and implements mortgage policies, practices, and objectives.
  • Ensures lending activities result in maximum yield; maintains quality control and minimizes losses.
  • Identifies opportunities for expansion and growth.
  • Establishes business relationships with vendors, real estate agents, builders, mortgage brokers, correspondent lenders, and others to solicit new business and better service current members
  • Consults with other executives and senior management with regard to strategic planning and establishing and tracking goals.
  • Builds and develops a diverse sales team that can execute and deliver on the sales strategy while mirroring the market we serve.
  • Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Builds an effective incentive sales plan.
  • Uses extensive data analytics experience to drive results
  • Ability to translate vision into executable plans, while also building a culture of accountability.

  • Collaborates with other members of the management team to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Essential for all PSECU Management:
    • Knowledge - Maintain required knowledge, skills and abilities in assigned area of expertise, including the laws, standards, fundamentals, methods, procedures, and techniques required for job. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PSECU's Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement, processes, related business processes, and the business world outside PSECU. Maintain knowledge PSECU's goals, culture, philosophy, products and services, bylaws, policies, and internal practices.
    • Workflow Management - Manage time effectively; meet deadlines; and produce quality work requiring little or no review. Manage high volume of work assignments.
    • Judgment - Exercise good judgment and appropriate decision making within scope of job.
    • Communication - Effectively communicate with audience appropriate content and detail both verbally and in writing.
    • Relationship Management - Maintain strong and effective interpersonal skills and effective working relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external. Demonstrate PSECUs Operating Principles of PRIDE (Partnership, Reliability, Improvement, Dedication, and Ethics).
    • People Management and Development
    • Supervise workflow and staff, using PSECU's coaching style of management (1-on-1 dialoging regularly, delegating effectively, setting expectations and goals, proving ongoing training, providing development opportunities, holding staff accountable in accordance with the credit union's performance management process).
    • Responsible for adhering to the organizations Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Diversity & Inclusion practices when selecting, mentoring, promoting and training staff.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all selection, promotional and training practices within the department are handled in accordance with the organizations Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
    • Maintain regular and consistent attendance as required for acceptable performance and accountabilities of this position.
    • Maintain confidentiality, in particular with credit union account information, as well as other information designated as confidential.
    • Responsible for the establishment and ongoing maintenance of an effective system of internal control within the scope of assigned job responsibilities.
    • Must meet creditworthiness standards.
    • Notify Human Resources in writing if convicted of a misdemeanor or felony involving dishonesty, breach of trust or violation of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Code (17 Pa. S. C. A. 101 et seq.) during the course of employment with PSECU. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Non-essential:

        • Must have the ability to drive and possess a valid PA driver's license. Must use Privately Owned Vehicle for duties whenever necessary.
        • Must carry auto insurance and provide proof of current insurance policy on a six-month basis coincident with renewal. The credit union carries employees as insured on its excess liability coverage. The coverage applies in excess of whatever liability insurance the employee carries on his personal auto. MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business, Marketing, At least 12 to 15 years of management experience in mortgage loan originations (conventional and portfolio loan products), servicing and secondary market activities. Proven success in sales loan growth, and profitability within the mortgage industry, Leadership and communication skills; ability to form and maintain relationships with key players in the industry, Must comply with and meet all requirements regarding the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act, 12 CFR 1007).
