Services - Digital Science**How will you make an impact?**You will
be a business/domain and technology specialist who can develop an
overall understanding of assigned technical or product areas, or
solutions that involve various products or components. You will
work closely with engineering teams to derive technical solutions
and component-level designs for product development initiatives
that are aligned with existing architectural designs and current
business solutions, while also delivering customer and business
value. Your focus will be to evolve our Thermo Fisher Connect
platform which delivers a world leading digital framework for
science via a coordinated suite of scientific instruments,
applications, and services.**What will you do?**--- Collaborate
with Engineering Leaders, Product Managers, Solution Owners, System
Architects to analyze and understand business needs and establish
comprehensive technical solutions; product and component-level
design artifacts, integration touch points, system interfaces,
dependency maps, and technical prototypes--- Design and implement
cloud service and software architecture for new products and
extensions to existing products in regulated markets; Be the
group's "go-to" person for architectural, design and implementation
related questions and provide mentorship--- Independently
Envision/Design/Build innovative solutions for customer needs
(moderate to sophisticated scope); Products & Services
Conceptualization; POC Development; Prototyping; Perform
feasibility studies--- Collaborate with Product Management team to
develop functional requirements and specifications; able to
understand, articulate and challenge the requirements; help them
onboard and make efficient use of the platform--- Collaborate with
software groups within Thermo Fisher to effectively integrate their
applications into the company's platform architecture and build
credibility--- Actively participate in various SAFE/Scrum
ceremonies and lead Architecture vision every quarter--- Provide
and support scrum teams to come up with an accurate estimation for
technical work--- Educate engineers on good design & implementation
principles and enforce design concepts throughout project
lifecycle--- Participate throughout the software development
process, including actual implementation phase as needed.
Responsible for end-to-end technical ownership of the software
products--- Build relevant architectural artifacts and work with
delivery teams to implement them. Identify and mitigate technical
risks; identify & resolve quality issues--- Participate in
development community of practices in sharing and learning standard
methodologies, lead initiatives within the community and involve in
other organization initiatives--- Support hiring, training, &
mentoring**How will you get here?****Education**--- Bachelor's
degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related
discipline; equivalent years of professional experience will be
considered; Master's degree a plus--- AWS Certified Solution
Architect Professional or equivalent certification**Experience**---
5+ years of related experience in delivering technical solutions to
sophisticated business problems; setting technical vision and
direction for the development teams in Healthcare, Life Sciences,
Biotechnology or Clinical domains--- Proven experience on Cloud
computing using AWS such as S3, DynamoDB, SNS, SES, EC2---
Experience with cloud-based IaaS services including compute
instances, server less, docker container orchestration, and virtual
private cloud (VPC) services--- Demonstrated ability in developing
Java/DotNet based web applications based on micro-services
architecture (using Spring Boot or equivalent modules, REST
APIs)--- Proficient in software architecture: multi-threading,
synchronous, and asynchronous communications, data serialization,
compression and encryption--- Strong programming concepts:
object-oriented principles, design patterns, data structures and
unit testing (TDD using junit), Domain driven Design (DDD)--- 5+
years of experience with databases (Postgres/MySQL/Oracle/NoSQL
DB), persistence frameworks, SQL, GitHub, Docker, CI/CD frameworks
(Jenkins), messaging middleware technologies - RabbitMQ, Kafka,
etc.--- Experience with defining and implementing Non-Functional
Requirements (NFR-Security, Performance, Availability, Reliability,
Cost, etc.)--- Experience in crafting and architecting large-scale,
highly available distributed software; multithreading application
development--- Technology and product evaluation experience---
Experience in automating system deployments and operationalizing
production systems through robust monitoring capability**Knowledge,
Skills, Abilities**--- Highly knowledgeable in SAFe/Scrum---
Possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting skills; comfortable
working as part of a large multi-functional, geographically
distributed team; ability to meet ambitious timelines and software
development schedules--- Excellent verbal and written communication
skills to convey sophisticated information to both Non-technical
and technical audiences; ability to effectively document
