company's success. PNC is seeking an Event Streaming Architect for
its Event Streaming Application Platform team within Retail MIS. As
an individual contributor you will interact with senior technology
& business leaders, SMEs, and solution architecture teams
representing your application
Your role requires proven thought leadership, networking skills,
interpersonal & written communication, and the ability to
anticipate the future.
- Creation of business architecture strategy
- Creation of artifacts including overall strategy, component
architecture diagrams, capability mappings, etc
- Internal presentation of solution design in public forums
- Direct interaction with Business Executives and IT Leadership
to build alignmentSkills & Experience
- Solution architect with Apache Kafka experience
- Deep knowledge of the Kafka environment includingo Topic
o Broker configuration
- Ideal candidate is one who has development experience using
Java and Spring boot framework
- Working knowledge of API & microservices development and best
- Working knowledge with any collection database (eg. MongoDB)
and RDBMS (eg. Oracle)
- Experience developing streaming applications using Apache Kafka
is a plus
- Experience developing Point of Views for ingestion
- Experience developing & maintaining architecture solution
diagrams, artifacts etc.
- Prior experience in Banking/Finance Industry is desirable
- Familiarity of BIAN standards is desirableRequired
- 5+ years of architecture experience performing integration,
solution, and advisor duties
- 10+ years of IT experience overall
- Working understanding of modern architecture designs,
technology, and patternsJob Description
Participates in defining functional designs and application systems
architecture across all technologies and platforms.
Designs an application's technical infrastructure, such as specific
databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing
Participates in the assessment of software defects discovered
during the quality assurance process.
Participates in addressing enterprise-wide platform and technology
requirements for applications.
Develops detailed programming instructions to solve business
problems through automation support.

design processing mechanisms and roadmaps to execute business
application systems; ability to design these roadmaps and deploy
supportive interfaces for end-users to access related systems, in
accordance with standards and processes.
Products and Services - Knowledge of major products and services
and product and service groups; ability to apply this knowledge
appropriately to diverse situations.
Service Oriented Architecture Technologies - Knowledge of the
technologies used to enable excellent IT service for business
clients; ability to develop, implement and support a variety of
Software Process Improvement (SPI) - Knowledge of formal software
process improvement disciplines, and ability to assess and improve
the quality and operating costs associated with an existing
Roles at this level typically require a university / college
degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific
certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a
comparable combination of education and experience (including
military service) may be considered.
